International Energy Agency: participation in activities involving stand-alone PV systems

Canada participates in the activities of the International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (AIE PVPS), which involves deploying stand-alone systems and PV in developing countries. In 2002, the PV group contributed to four reports on battery management, system selection, battery testing, and appliance use. These documents are available at the IEA–PVPS Task III Website . Canada also contributed to a compilation of case studies from around the world, a guide on recommended practices for funding mechanisms, and to the organization of a follow-up workshop on PV deployment in developing countries.
