Industrial Combustion Processes | International Energy Agency (IEA) Furnace Study
Request for Participants
The Executive Committee of the International Energy Agency Agreement on the Development and Demonstration of Clean Coal Sciences decided recently to update the "International Register of Experimental Furnaces Associated with Combustion and Combustion Related Processes". The last Register, Issue No. 4, was published in 1986. It contains overviews of 70 experimental furnaces operated by 37 organizations in 8 countries.
As the coordinator for compiling this updated Register, I would be grateful for your assistance in completing the survey sheet. Each completed survey sheet should be accompanied by a one page, scanned schematic layout of the furnace and major ancillary equipment such as handling and pollution control systems. One survey form is to be submitted for each furnace operated by your organization. Duplicate forms are to be used if more than one submission is made by an organization.
It would be helpful if you can provide me with any names of organizations, addresses and contact persons in non-member countries that are actively engaged in experimental coal combustion. I will solicit these contacts for submissions so that the Register will include both member and non-member countries.
The updated Register, which will be published under the auspices of the IEA/CCS Agreement, will provide a timely data base of coal combustion facilities around the world and foster formal and informal exchanges of information among international investigators at the working level. It is hoped that the Register will contribute to encouraging more countries to join this Agreement as well.
Your cooperation in participating is appreciated.
Yours truly,
Pat Hughes
