Dow Centennial Centre multileisure facility - Project video
Transcript
Dick Polowaniuk, Director, Facility Maintenance, City of Fort Saskatchewan:
We are more than happy of the results, in particular when we look at the energy consumption. I just did that about a week or so ago. We compared the 2005 energy consumption, both electricity and natural gas, for this facility, compared to the benchmark that was set by our mechanical engineer. We are much that what the projections were, so it makes us feel very good because we buy our gas in power blocks here, so we ended up buying more gas and more power than we actually need for this building. But it is better to be in that position than being the other way around.
Lorna Rosen, City Manager, City of Fort Saskatchewan:
The Dow Centennial Centre is an absolutely marvellous facility and we consider it to be the jewel of Fort Saskatchewan. It gained us regional attention. Everybody that comes to our municipality, I am proud to say we show off this facility to anybody that is visiting and everybody has virtually the same comment: how marvellous and do not we wish that we could have something just exactly like this. I would strongly encourage any municipality to look at doing a multi-purpose facility such as the jewel we have here in Fort Saskatchewan.
