Awareness Workshop
The use of new technologies allows energy savings and greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) reduction. To take full advantage, the decision maker must understand where and how these technologies generate the expected savings.
CanmetENERGY has developed a 1-day awareness workshop to provide information on the CoolSolution® approach and the technologies available to achieve energy savings in arenas and curling rinks.
Objective
To inform on efficient refrigeration applications that allow significant reduction of energy consumption and GHG emissions in arenas and curling rinks. At the end of the course, participants will be able to ask their service providers proposals that integrate the CoolSolution® approach.
Target audience
Building owners and managers, operating staff and elected officials that take or influence decisions for construction or retrofit of arenas and curling rinks.
Content
- Building’s energy balance
- Electricity bill
-
Efficient refrigeration applications
- Integration of refrigeration and heating systems in order to recover heat rejected by refrigeration systems
- Adapting refrigeration system to Canadian weather
- Use of natural refrigerants or reduction of synthetic refrigerants
- Other building energy savings opportunities
