Hydrogen and Fuel Cell R&D Lab:
The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell lab conducts research and development of nano-materials for hydrogen storage and ceramic materials for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells. Projects include:

  • Characterization of Emerging Chemical Hydrides: Off-board mechanical re-hydrogenation of hydrides in ball mill cylinders
  • Advanced Hydrogen Storage Media: Developing new materials such as Nanonickel Catalyzed Magnesium for storage and safe transportation of hydrogen
  • Ceramic Materials for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells: Synthesis and characterization of electrolyte and electrode materials for intermediate temperatures (500-700°C), and the development of anode supported prototype fuel cells based on oxide and proton conducting electrolytes.
