At CanmetENERGY we work with industry, trade and professional associations, utilities, universities, and other levels of government. Our work includes developing and deploying leading-edge technologies in the areas of residential, commercial and industrial energy efficiency and alternative, renewable and transportation energy technologies. Our work reflects the mandate of Natural Resources Canada to focus on science and policy linkages for the sustainable development and use of Canada's resources through its partnerships and strategic alliances.

We provide leadership and administer some funding through our repayable and cost-shared contract funding for projects that fall within our energy-related technology areas. The majority of our work is done by providing energy technology expertise for projects, programs, events, etc. CanmetENERGY strives to build partnerships with well-established Canadian and international networks and groups.
